Comments made by two key government officials during a recent General Membership Meeting of Chautauqua Property Owners’ Association on August 9, 2014 concerning water issues will be aired on Access Channel 5 at 3:00 and 9:00 PM each day beginning August 23 until August 29.
Tom Cherry (Superintendent, Chautauqua Utility District) discussed blue-green algae in Lake Chautauqua and its control. He made additional comments about proposed upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant and answered questions about other wastewater processes.
Don Emhardt (Supervisor, Town of Chautauqua) answered questions about The Chautauqua Lake and Watershed Alliance. He also reported about upgrades to various sewer systems around the shore of Lake Chautauqua.
Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Mayville, Chautauqua, North Harmony, Sherman, Westfield and Portland areas. Viewers should note that all area public access channels have been dropped from Time Warner's analog service, but can be received on digital service with a converter or on a digital television (channel 21.4) that has been recently autoscanned.
