Chautauqua County executive Vince Horrigan was on hand for the naming of the Greater Chautauqua Airport Robert H. Jackson Field at a ceremony held on October 10th. The dedication will be shown on Access Channel 5 at 1:10 and 7:10 PM beginning October 11 with the last airing on October 17.
Assemblyman Andrew Goodell and Chautauqua County legislator Lisa Vanstrom, representing Senator Cathy Young, were present. Gregory Peterson represented the Robert H. Jackson Center.
Robert H. Jackson was portrayed by impersonator Robert Terreberry.
A C-43 (DC3) WWII aircraft was on site for tours and was provided courtesy of the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo, NY.
George Spanos, director of the Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities welcomed Phil Leferve from Sun Air Express, a Ft. Lauderdale-based company that will be associated with the airport.
Peter Carlo, a Korean War Veteran, donated a flag to the new field.
Access Channel 5 (QAM channel 21.4 without a converter) is available to cable viewers in the Mayville, Chautauqua, North Harmony, Sherman, Westfield and Portland areas.
